DA-Group obtains Facility Security Clearance (FSC)
DA-Design Oy was awarded the national Facility Security Clearance certificate on July 13, 2017. The certificate enables the National Security Authority to issue the FSC required for international security classified ventures. The Finnish Defence Forces initiated the process and the certificate was awarded by the Finnish Defence Forces.
The auditing process covers the administrative, physical, personnel and information security aspects of the company's operations.
-- DA-Group has a long-term working relationship with the Finnish Defence Forces. This certificate is extremely significant to us, because it validates the core importance of security issues in our operations. The company has consistently invested in reliability, working methods and systems security, says Sami Kotiniemi, Chief Executive Officer.
-- For international projects, the national Facility Security Clearance enables issuing of international FSC certificates, which are required for classified international contracts, adds Kotiniemi. A Facility Security Clearance certificate is required as a proof that a company can be trusted to properly manage and process sensitive and classified information when participating in international ventures.
According to the Security Clearance Act of 2015 (726/2014), the Finnish Defence Forces will routinely audit companies and require Facility Security Clearance qualifications from companies performing work for them or participating in their procurement operations.
Only a public entity can initiate the FSC process. The national Facility Security Clearance certificate is valid for five years, and audits will be regularly performed during this period to ensure continuous compliance.
